Can't find "CHQ NO." column in "Deposit detail report"

Hi @Yasser-L , did you fill the check number before? If not you could re enter the number

  1. Click on List and choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. Double-click on the bank account.
  3. Look for the check.
  4. In the NUMBER/TYPE column, replace the To Print with the check number.
  5. Press Enter on your keyboard and click on Yes when prompted to record the changes.

Or you could customize report with select the payment method when run report. Cheers.

Can't find "CHQ NO." column in "Deposit detail report"

Hi @gayatriluthfias20

I have already filled "CHQ NO.". Please see attached snap. I also customized the "Deposit Detail" report by adding all columns but none of them showed the "CHQ NO.".

Thanks

Can't find "CHQ NO." column in "Deposit detail report"

Hey there, Yasser-L. Thanks for the screenshot and information.

If you're using QuickBooks Desktop 2020, did you by chance make use of our collapse columns feature? If it was used, the details under a column will be hidden until Expand Columns is clicked to show them.

You can check for data issues by running a verify and, if necessary, a rebuild.

Here's how:

  • Verify data

1. Make sure all windows in QBDT are closed.
2. Go to File, Utilities, then Verify Data. If any problems were found, it will tell you how to go about addressing them.

  • Rebuild data (if it says to perform one)

1. Go to File, Utilities, then Rebuild Data.
2. Follow the prompts to create a backup of your company file. After finishing, our utilities will begin rebuilding data.
3. Select OK once you see a message saying "Rebuild has completed".

After completing this, it's recommended to check for remaining damage.

Here's a helpful resource about using columns with reports:

Hi @ZackE

Thank you for your reply. I tried all your suggestions and I still can't see the check number. (attached snap)

I didn't see any columns to expand.

Can't find "CHQ NO." column in "Deposit detail report"

Hi there, Yasser-L.

I understand that you need to include the CHQ NO when you pull up the deposit details report. We can add Trans # and Num on the said report.

It's best to reach out to our Technical Team so they can further check why the data in the CHQ NO field isn't showing.

Here's an article if you need further help in customizing reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'll be here if you need anything else. Have a great day!
