Join nowHello,
When I download QBO files from Chase for my credit card transactions, it's coming over using an account number my QB desktop doesn't recognize. This, after two years of successful downloads and uploads. In the past (with another business account), I've had to shut down the account in QB, and create a new account, even though it's the same credit card account, just to accommodate the new account # in the QBO file so i can do bank feed uploads.
Does anyone know how to fix this without creating a new account?
Hello there, David.
Thank you for posting here in the Community space. I can help you update your bank's account number in QuickBooks Desktop.
You're right. You need to turn off your Bank Feeds to make any changes to update your login and other info for the bank account.
However, you don't need to create a new account. You can reconnect your bank feeds by entering your login credentials within QuickBooks.
Here's how:
Once done, go to the Bank Feeds window again and set up the account with the updated banking details. Here's an article for additional guidance: Set Up Bank Accounts for Bank Feeds in QuickBooks Desktop.
Additionally, here are some articles you can use in case you need them when working in the banking section of QuickBooks:

Thank you!
I followed all of your steps to deactivate the account, but once i tried to setup the bank again, it would take me to sign into Chase and when I did, it said i was not authorized to. So, I simply imported a QBO file, it asked me if i wanted to start a new account, or associate those transactions to an existing account. I chose existing account, which was my original Chase account for the credit card! issue fixed!
Thanks again,
David
