Credit card transactions from 2019 hanging out in Bank Feeds

I have about $288 worth of credit card transactions in Bank Feeds from 2019 that were never dealt with. What is the best way to resolve those at this point?

Thanks for getting in touch with the Community, abouthearing.

After downloading your electronic account statement, you'll need to match the downloaded transactions to their corresponding ones in QuickBooks. This way, you can tell what transactions your financial institution has processed and which ones haven't cleared yet.

QuickBooks separates transactions into 3 categories based on the bank's information and what's in your books.

You can start the process by reviewing your transactions.

Here's how:

  1. In the top menu bar, go to Banking.
  2. Click Bank Feeds, then access your Bank Feeds Center.
  3. Review the transactions in each category.
  4. Next, you'll want to start matching them with the bank feed mode you use.

Here's a list of each bank feed mode:

  • Express Mode
  • Classic Mode
  • Advanced Mode
  • Manually Match Transactions

You can find detailed information about each mode and how they work in our Add & match Bank Feed transactions article. Follow the steps for the mode you use and finish matching your transactions.

I've also included a detailed resource about working with transactions which may come in handy moving forward: Reconcile an account

Please don't hesitate to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a wonderful day!

Yes, I know how to enter transactions. My question is will this cause a problem with reconciliation? The books are already reconciled. Or how to delete these transactions?

I appreciate your reply, abouthearing.

Yes, if you've reconciled your accounts recently for 2022 or 2023, this will cause issues with your transactions.

On the other hand, you can delete your transactions if you don't want to include them in your records or reports. Still, since the books are reconciled, it would be best to seek professional advice from your accountant for the best way to handle your 2019 transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

You can utilize our Find an Accountant tool to look for one in your area if you're not affiliated.

Moreover, I'm thinking that these handy articles can help you manage your entries along the way:
