Credit card wont connect

I have a business credit card through Elan Financial Services that has been linked to my account and working fine since January 2023. The account last updated on 9/22/23 and then I kept getting an ! icon saying that it was unavailable. Fast forward more than one week later, still no luck. So last night I deleted the account from my QuickBooks hoping I could just relink it to get things working again. When I search Elan Financial Services, I get a message that says "We cant connect to Elan Financial credit card right now."

Is this a QuickBooks issue or a Elan issue? I would really like to get my books back in working order and have this taken care of but I don't know where to start.

Credit card wont connect

Hi there, @Hilljoa .and @kbush24.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. Let me share some insights on the error you've encountered.

Upon checking it here on my end, the Elan Financial Credit Card isn't available right now. Their website may be undergoing maintenance or having service issues. The online bank connection to QuickBooks. I recommend contacting them to address your concerns properly.

In the meantime, let's do a workaround to manually upload the file.

Here's how :

  1. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website.
  2. Follow your bank's instructions for you to download CSV files of your transactions to your computer. Every financial institution has different steps.
  3. Check the date range for the download. It should be at least one day before the date of your oldest transaction.
  4. Download your transactions. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it, like your computer's desktop.

Mine is with Cardmember Services. The card has been connected for over a year, now QBO is saying it cannot connect to Cardmember Services.

Let me help you sort out this issue, dso0216.

You'll have to make sure that you don't have any pending alerts or notifications on your banking page that you need to acknowledge. If you don't have one, you can reach out to your bank and ask for the correct bank or credit card URL so you can successfully connect Elan Financial credit card account in QuickBooks Desktop.

In the meantime, you can download a file (.QBO) with your company's transactions from your bank to keep up with the latest transactions. Then you import that file to QuickBooks to add those transactions to your accounts.

If your bank offers Web Connect:

  1. From Banking, select Bank Feeds, then Import Web Connect Files.
  2. Select the .QBO file you saved, then select Open.
  3. When asked to select your bank account:
    • Use a QuickBooks account that exists if the account you're importing transactions into is already set up in QuickBooks.
    • Create a new QuickBooks account if the account you're importing transactions into isn't in QuickBooks yet. Learn how to create an account.
  4. Click Continue. You'll see a dialog box telling you that the data has been successfully read into QuickBooks. Then OK.
  5. Go to the Bank Feeds Center to review your transactions.
