Let me help you delete a bank account.
You may need to disconnect the bank connection since it's linked to the online banking feature. Keep in mind that you can restore a deleted account, but may need to make corrections to journal entries and balances.
To disconnect an account:
- In the navigation bar, click Banking, and then select the Banking sub-tab.
- Choose the account you want to delete, and then click its Edit icon, then Edit account info.
- In the Account window, select Disconnect this account on save.
- Select on Save and Close.
Then, you can now delete it. Here's how:
- Select Accounting, then go to Chart of Accounts.
- Look for the account.
- Click the View register drop-down arrow, then choose Delete.
- You'll receive a message, "Are you sure you want to delete this?", click Yes.
If you're unsure, check with your accountant l before deleting an account.
