Thanks for posting to the Community, @paul-tuller.

Creating and sending an estimate is unavailable in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

However, if you're using QuickBooks Online and you're missing the option to create or send estimates, I recommend using a private browser. Private browsing mode prevents internet files from making QBO unable to send estimates.

You can open a supported browser below and follow the hotkey:

  • Google Chrome, press CTRL + Shift + N.
  • Mozilla Firefox: press CTRL + Shift + P.
  • Microsoft Edge: press CTRL + Shift + P.
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N.

If this fixes the issue, clear your regular browser's cache. It can help you offset the old cache and load new data that can speed up browsers' performance.

Otherwise, open QBO in other supported browser.

Please feel free to leave a message if you have further questions. I'll be around to help. Have a good one!

This is crazy. why not the estimates? I can create invoices but not estimates in self employed? Well what version should i get to be able to do estimates? That certainly wasn't straight forward in the options when i bought self employed.

Good day, Sburleigh.

As referenced by my peer above, creating estimates isn't currently offered in QuickBooks Self-Employed. Yet, you can still track your income and expenses using this system.

All QuickBooks Online version can create and send estimates. You can check this link to check which online version is good for your business: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/pricing/.

Also, you can try our QuickBooks Online trial version or test drive and try to create an estimate from there: https://qbo.intuit.com/redir/testdrive.

I'll be around here in the Community, so please let me know if you have other concerns. Have a nice day.

@Sburleigh

If you have to open a new QBO account, make sure to click the Buy button to get the discounted price for up to 6 months. If you purchase from the trial account, you have to pay the regular price.
