Error when accessing transaction list in bank feed - Quickbooks Pro 2022

Hi,  I see an error when trying to access transaction list in bank feed. I have Win 11 and QB PRO PLUS 2022. I was able to access it a few days ago but I think the problem started after I removed the admin user in Win 11.

Hello, @onedolphin.

I appreciate you sharing your experience accessing the baking feeds in QuickBooks Desktop. I'm here to share some insights.

May I ask first what error message you received? I would also appreciate it if you send us a screenshot. This way, I'll be able to identify what resolution to provide on the issue you recently encountered.

Furthermore, verifying Data self-identifies the most commonly known data issues within a company file and rebuilds data to self-resolves the majority of the data integrity issues discovered by Verify Data.

Follow these steps to resolve minor data issues in your company file.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu, hover over Utilities and select Rebuild Data.

  3. Let the tool repair your file.
  4. When the tool finishes, hit OK.
  5. Go to the File menu. Then hover over Utilities and select Verify Data.
  6. Let the tool check your file for data issues.

After you have verified the error, you must rebuild the company file to repair any damage found:

  1. Choose FileUtilities then, Rebuild Data.
  2. Choose the rebuild data option. After that, select the OK tab to close all windows.
  3. Next, create a backup file before rebuilding the company file and click OK.

Hello there, @onedolphin.

I appreciate you for keeping in touch with us here in the Community. Allow me to chime in and help you fix the error in QuickBooks without creating a new Windows user.

Before we begin, I want to ask for additional information about your bank's name. It will help me identify if there are reported issues from other users similar to your problem.

While waiting for the additional details, you can perform some troubleshooting steps. This way, we can isolate and resolve the error.

Let's first update your QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release. Aside from improving the program's performance, the process fixes common and complicated errors.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Help tab in the upper-right corner, then select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Go to the Update Now tab.
  3. Select the updates you want to include.
  4. Put a checkmark on the box beside Reset Update.
  5. Hit Get Updates. Download and install automatic QuickBooks Desktop updates

Once done, you can proceed with checking your QuickBooks user account. Check if this is only happening to a specific user. If that's the case, it usually means your access is damaged and needs to be recreated.

If the problem persists, run our QuickBooks Tools Hub application. It will run a quick repair on your program.

You can follow these steps:

  1. Download QuickBooks Tools Hub.
  2. In the QuickBooks Tools Hub, select Program Problems.
  3. Select Quick Fix my Program.

Also, I've attached an article for your reference about the solutions you can follow to resolve Unrecoverable errors in QuickBooks: Unrecoverable Error: General Troubleshooting Steps.

I'll wait for your update regarding the error when viewing downloaded bank transactions. Hit the Reply option, and we'll be sure to get back to you.

Did everything, nothing worked. Last time I fixed it was creating a completely new windows user and switch to it.

Thanks for updating us, @onedolphin

Would you mind sharing your bank's name? Knowing it will help me find any similar reported issues. In the meantime, let me share additional troubleshooting to resolve the error.

Let's create a new bank account and merge it to the existing one. Beforehand, make sure to create a backup copy of your company file. This way, you can restore your data if you ever run into some problems.

Then, follow these steps to create a new account:

  1. Go to Lists and select Chart of accounts.
  2. On the Item List window, choose Account, then New.
  3. Choose Bank and then Continue.
  4. Fill out the item fields.
  5. Select Save & Close.

After that, you'll have to deactivate online services for your bank. This is because you're unable to merge an account that has online information associated with it.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Lists and then select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Right-click the account you want to deactivate. Then select Edit Account.
  3. Go to the Bank Settings tab.
  4. Select Deactivate all online services and then OK to confirm.
  5. Hit Save & Close.

Lastly, here's how to merge these accounts:

  1. Go to Lists and then select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Take note of the name of the account that you'd like to keep.
  3. Right-click the name of the account that you want to merge, then select Edit Account.
  4. Replace the account name with the one you want to keep, then select Save & Close.
  5. A prompt will appear, select Yes to merge the account.

I'd like to know how you get on after trying the steps. I want to ensure this is resolved for you. Feel free to reply to this post and I'll get back to you. Have a good one!

This is not the problem, again and again, creating a new windows user will fix it, when I take this file to another PC it works. Some components are missing when removing a windows user. You are wasting the time. Also, in advance mode is working, only not working in express mode.

Hello there, @onedolphin. I appreciate your immediate response.

I can see the urgency of getting your bank feed error fixed. Let me route you to the best support who can investigate and provide the appropriate resolution for this matter so you can access your transaction list and review them using your preferred banking mode in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

The Community is a public forum. Since we'll need to collect some personal information to pull up your account to investigate the cause of the error and identify why it's only happening to a certain banking mode (Express Mode), I encourage you to reach out to our Customer Care team. They can create a case to evaluate the cause of the error and guide you with a fix. To do this, here's how:

  1. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. Select the Contact Us button.
  3. Enter a brief description of your concern in the What can we help you with? field and click Continue.
  4. Choose a way to connect (Chat or Callback).

Once fixed, go ahead and continue categorizing your bank feed transactions in QBDT to keep your financial data updated. For the step-by-step guide, please see this article: Add and match Bank Feed transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

Also, I would encourage you to reconcile your accounts every month. This way, you can monitor all your (income and expense) transactions and detect any possible errors accordingly. In case you need a reference to help you in doing or fixing a reconciliation in QBDT, you may check out this article: Learn the reconcile workflow in QuickBooks.

Let me know how it goes in the comments below. If you have other banking concerns or questions about managing transactions in QBDT, I'll gladly help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @onedolphin.
