Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub

Learn how to use QuickBooks Tool Hub to help fix problems and errors.
Repair common QuickBooks Desktop issues with the help of the QuickBooks Tool Hub and get back to what matters. Get the latest version and help fix errors and issues like:
- Error 6123
- Error H202

Step 1: Download and install the QuickBooks Tool Hub
Make sure to close your QuickBooks Desktop before you use the tool hub. For best results, use Windows 11, 64-bit.
- Close QuickBooks Desktop.
- Download the latest version (1.6.0.8) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save the file where you can easily find it. Try your Downloads folder or Windows desktop.
Tip: To check the version, select the Home tab when the tool hub opens. - Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
- Follow the on-screen steps to install. Read, understand, and agree to the terms and conditions.
- Once done, select the QuickBooks Tool Hub app on your Windows desktop to open it.

Tip: If you can't find it on the desktop, search for QuickBooks Tool Hub and select the app.
Step 2: Use the tools in the QuickBooks Tool Hub
The hub gives you quick access to problem solving tools. Each tab offers solutions for different types of problems:
- Company File Issues: Run the Quick Fix my File or the QuickBooks File Doctor to fix common data issues. If you need more help, select File Dr Help.
- Network Issues: Fix common network problems like error H202. You must be on your server computer.
- Program Problems: Fix common problems when you open or work in the app. You can use this section to resolve PDF and print related issues. Prevent possible data issues with company files larger than 1 GB.
- Installation Issues: Fix common problems when you install or uninstall QuickBooks Desktop like error 3371.
- Password Reset: Run the automated password reset tool to reset your admin password.
- Help & Support: Contact us to get help with any tool hub issues or for other resources.
- Advanced Tools: Use common Windows shortcuts to help troubleshoot common QuickBooks errors.
Note: If you need to install a tool from the Tool Hub, it'll download in the background and may take 2–3 minutes to finish. QuickBooks updates sometimes take longer than expected for app and payroll updates. Keep the installer open until downloads finish or the tool might not run.
