Expenses auto uploading to Register

Why are expenses in Review for my bank account automatically uploading to register? I want to manually add them from the review tab

Expenses auto uploading to Register

I've got your back, @MAbbey. I'm here to assist you and make sure you'll be able to manually add your expenses to your register in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

The possible reason why your expenses automatically go into your account register is that you have set up a bank rule to directly categorize them from the For review tab. See this screenshot for an example:

To get rid of it, you can disable or delete the rule(s) you've created. I'd gladly show you how:

 

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select the Rules tab
  3. From the Actions column, select either Disable or Delete.

Moreover, you can utilize this article if you need to undo some of your expense transactions and categorize them manually instead: Unmatch downloaded bank transactions or move them to another account.
