Hi - I'm trying to import my first payroll from intuit using iif. It tells me my accounts do not match. When I try to change the account, quickbooks won't allow it.

The Payroll Liabilities account type in the import file is Expense which does not match the account type Other Current Liability used in your company file. I have tried changing the account type in QB, but it says the account was auto-generated and it will not allow it.

Thank you for reaching out to us, @AB-68.

I understand that you would like to import your first payroll from your Intuit account to your QuickBooks account using .iif files.

Currently, importing payroll data to QuickBooks Online account is not possible. Payroll is not included in data migration.

You can check on the following articles about moving from Intuit Online Payroll to QuickBooks Online:

You can check out the topics from our help articles for more hints and resources as your get started with QBO.

If you have any other follow-up questions about importing to your QuickBooks Online account, please let me know by adding a comment below. I'm always here to help. Have a good one!

I'm importing from Core payroll to QB desktop for Mac. Never had an issue importing with the prior payroll.
