How can I download a TXF file from QBO for Turbotax?

I subscribed to QBO in 2022, cancelled 1/23 with the understanding I still had access to my data.

How can I download a TXF file from QBO for Turbotax?

Glad to have you here in the Community, @forestexplorerst.

I'm here to get a .TXF file from QuickBooks Online (QBO), so you can import it to TurboTax.

QBO only allows you to download a CSV file. Since you can't download the .TXF file directly from QBO, I suggest downloading a CSV file. Then, look for a third-party app that can convert a file from CSV to TXF.

You can check out this article to learn how to export your QBO data to an Excel file: Export reports, lists, and other data from QuickBooks Online.

I feel completely duped. How can Intuit have software that is not integrated? I subscribed to QBO with the assumption that TurboTax would be able to import my small business data from QBO. What a waste of my time and money. You have lost a customer.

Agreed, I did exactly the same. Complete waste of time and money.

Confirming that it's pretty much all a manual effort. I wasted about 2 hours with QBSE and TT support, and trying to find solutions online. They finally suggested importing the transactions from QBSE into Quick Books Desktop and then exporting a TXF file from Desktop, and I wasted another 2 hours on this before realizing the import is completely impractical because of the amount of setup in QB Desktop to get the data to even import.

So, I will massage the output from the QBSE CSV file so it's organized for me to copy and paste the transactions into Turbotax.

Very frustrating, as you all have noted.

@martinhardee

You may consider converting data from QBSE to QBO and then to QB Desktop. Make sure to export all data and reports to CSV first. You can purchase a third-party service to convert data from QBO to QB Desktop if necessary.
