How can I find the last few transactions I recorded for 2023? Is there a way to see transactions sorted by the date/time they were recorded?

I am in the process of an external financial review.  One of my reconciliations is off from the GL so I need to find the last entries that were booked into 2023, likely in January 2024.

Let me share an option to help you find the transactions you need, @CarrieTr.

There are various ways to pull up a transaction in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Since you need the option to sort the transaction by date and time, you can use the Transaction List by Date report and then customize the report period to sort the recorded transactions based on your preference.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Report Menu.
  2. In the Find reports by name, select Transaction list by date.
  3. Click the Report period dropdown, select the specific period, or customize the date.
  4. Tap the screen to refresh, then check the transactions.

On the other hand, you can also open the Chart of accounts and find the transaction that made your general entry off then View the register. Then, filter dates to sort out the transactions. You can refer to this article for detailed steps: Find, review, and edit transactions in account registers.

Additionally, here's a helpful resource that you can check for guidance in case you encounter discrepancies from your past reconciliation and help you with balancing your books:
