How can I get rid of bank transaction imported into QB online that are from previous years that I do not want to keep track of or reconcile?

That’s easy peasy, cr_rench. I have the steps for reconciling while excluding those unwanted or unnecessary transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

For the transactions that were imported last year that you don't want to reconcile, you can Exclude them from the reconciliation process. It doesn’t appear in any account registers or financial reports. This can be done by following these steps:

1. Go to Transactions, then select Bank transactions (Take me there).
2. Select the For Review tab.
3. Select the checkbox of the transactions to exclude.
4. Select Exclude.

After completing the process, you can go to the For Review tab to review the entries and match or add them to QuickBooks. Categorized, matched, and added transactions will be entered into your bank's register. The entries will then be ready for the next step, which is to reconcile them.
