Hello there, @grozaconsulting. I'm here to help you reconcile the charge in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
To do this, you simply need to go through the normal reconciliation process. Prior to that, there are several things you need to consider:
- The ending balance for the period you want to reconcile
- The transactions that appear on your statements that you need to reconcile.
To clarify, is the account where the charges are allocated connected to your QBO? Let's update this to ensure that all transactions you want to reconcile are uploaded. Here's how:
- Navigate to the Banking menu and select the account the transactions are allocated to.
- Then, click the Update button.
- Once the transactions are in, let's match or categorize them with the records in QBO.
After that, you can now process in performing the reconciliation process:
- Go to the Gear icon and select Chart of Accounts.
- From there, click the Reconcile tab.
- Then, select the account you need to reconcile.
- Next, set the Ending balance (ensure this is correct for the period you need to reconcile).
- Then, select an Ending date.
- When ready, click on Start reconciling.
While you're on the reconciliation page, check all the charges that need to be reconciled. You can also pull up your bank statement to get an accurate view of those transactions.
I've added this article for additional help in reconciling your account: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.
I also recommend asking for guidance from your accountant to ensure you'll account for the transactions correctly. They can also give advice on how you can reconcile the transaction correctly.
After the process, you can pull up a reconciliation report to review the transactions.
Keep me posted if you have any other concerns about reconciling your account in QBO. Please don't hesitate to post again here. Have a great day ahead.
