How do I delete a bank reconciliation for which I entered the wrong ending date?

Hello, @newjerseyala1.

You've definitely come to the right place for help. I'm here to assist you in changing your reconciliation year date from 2025 to 2023. Let's get started!

If you haven't completed the reconciliation yet, you can still change the ending date by following these steps:

  1. Select Accounting in the left panel and pick the Reconcile tab.
  2. Choose the bank account from the Account drop-down list and tap the Resume reconciling button.

  3. From the upper right-hand corner, click the Edit Info button.
  4. Change the reconciliation year date from there, then hit Save.

However, if it's already reconciled, you can fix it by undoing the reconciliation. This feature is exclusively available on QuickBooks Online Accountant. If you haven't, I'd recommend inviting your accountant to your company to undo this period at once.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon in the upper-right corner, and select Manage Users.
  2. On the Accountants tab, enter the email, and click the Invite button.

Once your accountant accepts the invitation, you can share this article with them: Undo a client’s reconciliation in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

If you choose to proceed without the assistance of an accountant, it is possible to undo or remove transactions from reconciliations individually. This also allows for the ability to modify the starting balance.

These instructions should help you correct the ending date. If you have other reconciliation questions, please update me by clicking the Reply button below. I'll be more than happy to assist you.
