Undo a client’s entire reconciliation in QuickBooks Online Accountant
by Intuit•538• Updated 3 days ago
In QuickBooks Online Accountant, you can undo a client's whole reconciliation instead of removing individual transactions. This lets you start over from scratch to fix any errors, but doesn’t undo manually reconciled transactions.
What you'll need
Before you begin, ensure you have completed the following prerequisites:
- Accountant access: You must have Accountant access to your client's QuickBooks Online company.
- Save attachments: Download any attachments tied to the reconciliation.
Note: Undoing a reconciliation deletes all existing attachments.
How to undo an entire reconciliation
Follow these steps to undo a reconciliation for your client:
- Open your client’s company file in QuickBooks Online.
- Go to All apps
, then Accounting, then Reconcile (Take me there). - Select History by account.
- Select the account you want to reconcile and the date range.
- Find the reconciliation you want to undo.
- From the Action column, select the dropdown ▼, then select Undo.
- Note: If you don't see Undo, make sure you've opened your client's company file from QuickBooks Online Accountant.
- Select Yes.
- Select Undo.
Result
The chosen reconciliation, and any reconciliations since then, are undone. Transactions that remain in the register for the dates that were undone may have changed manually. Check your transaction audit history to verify.
What’s next
After undoing the reconciliation, you can reconcile the account again and fix any errors.
