Buy nowQBO doesn't support to import IIF. Can you export your data in *.csv file format from your Shop Management software instead? Another question, did you switch from QB Desktop?
It's nice to welcome you into the Community, @office-foreignca. I'll be happy to share the details about importing IIF files into QuickBooks Online (QBO).
In QBO, there are specific file formats you can upload, which include Comma Separated Values (CSV), Google Sheets, or an XLS/XLSX. However, the program is unable to support importing IIF files at this moment.
I understand how this feature is beneficial to your business. For now, I recommend utilizing an importer tool to upload your IIF files to QBO. To do that, you can visit our App Center.
Here's how:
Moreover, here's an article containing in-depth information about importing data into QBO: Common questions about importing data to QuickBooks Online.

@JaeAnnC RE: However, the program is unable to support IIF files at this moment.
That is incorrect.
You can say that it does not support Intuit's standard file format, the "Intuit Interchange Format". That would be accurate.
But, you can't say that it is unable to, as if it isn't possible. Of course it's able to! It's just that Intuit hasn't implemented it, similarly to the other plethora of features that Desktop has that Online is missing.
It is possible to import an IIF file into QuickBooks Online but you need to use a third party app like Axis Online that you can find in the QuickBooks Apps Store that is able to open the IIF file. You can then map the columns to the fields in QuickBooks Online and batch import the IIF data directly into your company file.
Hope that gives you another option.

Why should i have to pay for a third party tool on top of paying monthly subcription for Quickbooks.
Clearly, QBO does not want my business for long as i will obviously look for an alternative platform.
Our care software exports Intuit format iif specifically for quickbooks. it is exploitative of QB to ask small business owners to pay for additional software to import their own native format. At the very least, they should implement import directly. this is ridiculous and i will surely vote with my feet and my money !
