Importing an accountant's data in a flash drive to QuickBooks Online depends on the file format, Sparky.
If the file is from the QuickBooks Desktop backup, I recommend downloading a free trial version of the QuickBooks Desktop.
Make sure that your computer meets the minimum requirements for installing either QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 24.0 or QuickBooks Desktop for Mac Plus 2024 before you begin.
Take note not to attempt to register for the trial. Doing so may result in being locked out of QuickBooks. Instead, save the trial install file in a location that is easily accessible. There is no need for any codes to open the trial.

Remember to relocate the backup company file from an external device such as a USB or a hosting service like Box to your local hard drive before proceeding with the following steps.
Please keep in mind the following information: If you open the backup within the same directory as your current company file, there is a risk of overwriting your data. To prevent accidental overwriting, you have the option to rename either the existing company file or the backup to ensure that their names are distinct. Another option is to store the backup in a completely different directory.

Thanks for the info. I will give this a try. I did just hear back from the previous accountant and she is using the desktop version 2023
You can use the trial version of QB Desktop 2023 Enterprise to restore the backup file and convert it to QBO.
