I have the same question. Your answer is to inactivate the Quicken payment account. If I do that, will I no longer be required to become PCI compliant? Or does the account need to be closed?
Setting your Quicken payment account to inactive status does not eliminate your responsibility to adhere to PCI requirements, Debcrater.
If you continue to accept credit or debit card payments, you are required to adhere to PCI compliance standards, regardless of the account's status.
And for your second question, closing the account might eliminate the compliance requirements, but it’s advisable to verify this with your payment processor.
This article can provide you with additional details about PCI Compliance: Learn about QuickBooks PCI DSS Compliance Services.
