How do I truly delete duplicate bank transactions?? If I delete a duplicate entry from register, it shows up in bank transactions and I'm caught in an endless loop.

This happened because I noticed a single missing trx so I uploaded bank QBO. When I've done this in the past, it only added missing trx. Today it added every single trx. They show up in my register as duplicates. If I delete a transaction from my register, it re-appears on the bank transactions for review. I don't see a way to permanently delete a transaction anymore.

Allow me to provide some help, LauraHig

To remove a duplicate transaction in QuickBooks Online (QBO), you have two options - Exclude or Delete. If you exclude the transaction, it won't show up in your bank feeds again. However, if you delete it, QBO will mark it as missing and download it again. Therefore, I recommended excluding the transaction from your For Review tab.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Transactions menu located at the left navigation panel and click Bank Transactions
  2. If it's already categorized, click Undo under the Action column. It will now be stored in the For Review tab.
  3. Press the For Review tab, and tick the said transaction. Choose the Exlude button.

Once you exclude a transaction, it will be moved to the Excluded tab. You can also undo a transaction, by going to the Excluded tab and clicking on Undo.

After categorizing, you can now reconcile your accounts so they always match your bank and credit card statements.

We'll be here if you need help aside from removing transactions from your bank transaction. Just click the Reply button and we'll be there.
