I'm happy to show you how to unlink your bank account from QuickBooks Online.
This can be done in just a few steps. Here's how:
1. Go to Transactions, then Bank transactions.
2. Select the tile for the bank account.
3. Choose the pencil icon, then select Edit account info.
4. Select the Disconnect this account on save checkbox. Note: If QuickBooks is downloading new transactions, you won't see this option. Wait a few minutes for the update to finish and try again.
5. Select Save and Close.
The following article provides additional details about disconnecting accounts connected to online banking in QuickBooks Online.
With this info you'll be able to unlink your Green Dot Bank from QuickBooks Online. Please don't hesitate to reach back out if you have any other questions.
Based on the user's question, I think they mean checking in QuickBooks and removing an external account you previously had linked.
How QBO doesn't allow you to do that is beyond me. So now I have to scroll through old accounts I had and hope I never make the mistake of selecting one.

If you're using QuickBooks Online and had a bank account connected, QuickBooks retains the account and its transaction records for auditing and reconciliation integrity. To stop new data, you must disconnect the account, which stops feed updates while leaving the record of your account in the Chart of Accounts. This helps preserve data history in your books.
I can certainly understand how an ability to remove the accounts entirely could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.
You can also submit your own feature requests while signed in.

In the event you're using QuickBooks Checking, you can use the information and steps in RhoiceW's post. Currently, there isn't a process for entirely disconnecting/removing an external account from QuickBooks Checking once it's been connected. I've also submitted feedback about this as well; and you're welcome to if you're using QuickBooks Checking instead of QuickBooks Online's Online Banking feature.
Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any questions. Have a great Wednesday!
