How to manually deposit a check into quickbooks checking

I don’t have an option to receive payment from a customer when the customer has written a check to my business. How on earth does quickbooks expect me to deposit these funds without giving me the option to deposit a check?

Thanks for becoming part of the Community, john-zukley-jr-g.

When receiving payments from customers, you can select Check as your Payment method. You can also specify which account the payment will be deposited into from your Deposit to drop-down list.

You can also deposit checks with your Bank deposit feature.

Here's how:

  1. In the left navigation bar, use your + New button.
  2. Go to Bank deposit.
  3. Choose an Account where funds will be deposited.
  4. Find the Add funds to this deposit section and specify where money is coming from in your Received from drop-down.
  5. Pick an Account, customer you've Received from, and Payment method.
  6. Enter an Amount.
  7. Select Save and close.

In the event you're using a QuickBooks Payments and QuickBooks Checking account, you can use your mobile check deposit feature if you're eligible to utilize it.

I've also included a couple detailed resources about receiving payments and working with deposits which may come in handy moving forward:

If there's any additional questions, I'm just a post away. Have a lovely day!

How to manually deposit a check into quickbooks checking

Why am I not eligible to deposit checks into my quickbooks checking account? LOL.

I literally have no way to deposit a check at the moment.

Thanks for joining us here, John.

I have some information to share to help with your question about mobile deposit.

First, please note that only eligible QuickBooks Payments users would see the option to use the Mobile Deposit feature with QuickBooks Checking. You'll see a message in your account once you become eligible.

Second, your QuickBooks Payments account must also be active and in good standing in order to qualify for this feature. Once your account qualifies, you'll see the option to Deposit checks when you click into Get Money. Additional details about eligibility and how to use it are discussed here: Use Mobile Check Deposit with QuickBooks Checking.

I would also recommend reaching out to our Payments Support Team. They can take a look at your account and check if you're already eligible or not. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu in the upper-right hand corner to open the QB Assistant window.
  2. Type in "talk to a human", then press Enter.
  3. Click Contact Support Team, then let them know that you want to know if you're eligible for mobile deposit.
  4. Press Enter once again.
  5. Select No, I still need help, then choose Contact Support Team.
  6. Look for the Chat option and click on it.

Allow me to share these articles as well in case you need more information and guidance when receiving online payments:
