Hi, I've deactivated my bank account by mistake. I did exactly as you explain on top; the account is back by all my info is lost. How do I restore that?
Hi there, @Riana!
Allow me to share a few insights and help you restore your transactions after activating a deactivated bank account.
To start, QuickBooks can only restore 60 days old transactions after you activated a deleted account. With this, let's go back and review your transactions from your bank register.
Let me show you how:
Once done, you'll be able to review all your 60 days old transactions. In addition, I've included our detailed guide in accessing your bank's register.
Secondly, you'll have to download and manually upload all your transactions which are beyond 60 days old. Please know that you'll have to download your transactions directly from your bank's website. You can have it in batch to minimize the sizes of your file and make sure to select any of the file formats, QuickBooks can accept. These are CSV, QFX, QBO, and OFX.
After downloading your transactions, here's how you can upload them:
This way, you'll be able to restore and review your banking transactions. Just go to the For Review tab in the Banking Page. And then manually add or match your transactions.
Here's an article you can read to learn more about uploading your banking transactions: How to Upload More Than 90 Days of Bank Transactions?
I'll be always around to lend you a helping hand if you have any other questions about your banking transactions. Have a great day!
When I follow these steps it does not give me a "Make active" option. It gives me a "make inactive" choice, yet when I try to do anything with this said account it tells me "Vendor assigned to this transaction has been deleted. Before you can modify this transaction, you must restore PayPal (deleted)." Is there something else I should do? Thanks.
Hey there, @BrideyAphrodite.
You're in the right place. It sounds like you may have two accounts named PayPal, one active and one inactive. To check, follow these super easy steps:

Thank you for your reply. None of my accounts in my chart of accounts, after clicking "include inactive" in the gear icon, say "make active" and none of my Paypal accounts say deleted next to them. Yet I am still having the same problem with the message "Vendor assigned to this transaction has been deleted. Before you can modify this transaction, you must restore PayPal (deleted)." I looked up the link you left, but it is the same instructions you gave me. I'm wondering if I messed something up somewhere else. I mean your's and the link's instructions are pretty clear, I just can not find any "make active" places anywhere in my chart of accounts. :(
Thanks for your prompt response to the Community, @BrideyAphrodite.
The details you have said earlier helped me determine the solution to the issue.
Since the account in your chart of account is already active, and it could be you have only disconnected the PayPal account, I recommend connecting the PayPal account again in the banking menu.
This way, you can restore PayPal transactions under For Review tab in the Banking menu.
Let me show you how:
Once the downloaded transactions are already in the For Review tab, you can exclude those items that are already in the PayPal's Register. If the vendor is not yet in QuickBooks, create the vendor by using the payee drop-down under the For Review transactions.
You can refer to these articles as your guide on how to handle PayPal transactions:

Hello @Jovychris_A
I am trying to resolve the same problem, restoring a deleted account, however, when it comes to clicking on the "include inactive" box, it will not allow me to. Any suggestions on how else to restore an account if this option is not available?
Appreciate your reply.
Thanks.
Hi there, rmaguiba.
There are times that the stored cache in your browser is the reason that you're not able to see "Include inactive" box. To fix that, I suggest using an incognito browser. If you're able to see that option, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache. An alternative way is to use another browser if it still doesn't work.
Here are the keyboard shortcuts in using an incognito browser:

Hello MarsStephanieL
Thanks for the help.
I am hoping you can help with a different issue.
I am helping a friend reconcile her account in quickbooks online.
Transactions are downloaded from the bank. For check payments though, these were not matched to
bills so the vendor accounts are showing overdue.
How do I correct this? I edited the check transaction to A/P under category and clicked on the expense/pay bill section. When I tried to match it to an outstanding transaction, the vendor bill is no
longer existing but is still unpaid.
Any suggestions on how to properly record the check payment so that it is applied to the correct vendor bill.
Thanks a lot!
Look like this is a duplicate post, rmaguiba.
