The missing Save button can be a browser-related issue. The outdated stored cache can affect the performance of the program.
To resolve this, I'd recommend accessing your QuickBooks Online account via a private window. Doing so helps us determine if there's an issue with the browser.

Once logged in, create a check again. If it works, let's clear the browser's cache to ensure the program performs efficiently.
If private browsing doesn't work, you can use other supported browsers.

Chrome is highly recommended! I don't ever have these kinds of issues with it! I'm a MAC user and love safari but for all things QB I use Chrome!
