I am trying to reconcile a bank account. When I go to link the account to reconcile it will not allow me to click on it. How do I fix this?

I am trying to reconcile a bank account. When I go to link the account to reconcile it will not allow me to click on it. How do I fix this?

The situation you're in can be caused by some browsing-related issues. In this case, we can perform some troubleshooting steps to fix this. There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed pages, thus causing some unusual responses. Let's log in to your account using a private browser. This mode will not save any history, making it a great place to identify browser issues.

 

You can use these shortcut keys listed below:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift N  
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift N

 

Then, reconcile your account. If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete stored site data and improve the system performance. Also, you can use other supported browsers. It could be that the one you're currently working on has a temporary problem with QuickBooks. 

 

You can also share with me if you encounter an error message when trying to link the account to reconcile. This way I can further check and provide steps to help you fix this. 

 

You can also print or export your reconciliation reports if you need to review or share them.

I am trying to reconcile a bank account. When I go to link the account to reconcile it will not allow me to click on it. How do I fix this?

No I tried to clear cache and also go through another browser and neither worked.  I used a new computer so there shouldn't be much in the cache anyway.  I had to get my report in so I manually reconciled the bank transactions to the ledger.  I will try again.  If there is another solution please let me know.

Thank you for doing those troubleshooting steps, userbobbie-gaston, and responding back to the Community.  Once you try it again and you are still experiencing issues, I recommend contacting our Support Team. They have the tools such as screening-sharing to investigate the matter more and find a possible solution. Here's how:

  1. Login to your QBO account. At the top right of your screen, click Help.
  2. Select the Contact us button.
  3. Enter contact number and click Continue.
  4. Choose either the Start messaging or Get a callback button.
