I am unable to connect a 4th account to the cash flow feature no matter what I try. Is there a limit on the number of attached accounts? Thank you so much

Thanks for reaching out to us, drijc1-gmail-com.

You can connect credit cards or bank accounts as many as you want. I'd like to know if you received an error when linking the 4th account so I can further check it.

Also, you'll want to check the bank's website if they are having system maintenance. That will block the connection which will result in not able to connect to the bank.

I've added some articles you'll want to browse for more info on how to manage banking in QuickBooks Online:

I'll be here if you need anything else. Take care!

To clarify the account funds are not showing and the account does not appear in the list of connected accounts however when I attempt to connect it it shows as already being connected. This is only an issue for the cash flow feature.

I can help you in setting up your 4th account in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @drijc1-gmail-com.

Are you referring to the subaccounts under the bank account that you're trying to connect to? If so, then try to check first how your bank sends the downloaded transactions.

You'll only need to connect the main account or parent account if the transactions are downloaded to that account. Then, if transactions are downloaded to an individual account or to the 4th account, then I suggest setting up a subaccount.

Here's how to setup the subaccount:

  1. Go to the Gear icon ⚙ and select Chart of Accounts
  2. Click on New and set up the account type and detail type.
  3. Select Is sub-account and then enter the parent account.
  4. Provide a subaccount name.
  5. Choose an When do you want to start tracking your finances from this account in QuickBooks option.
  6. Select Save and Close.

You can check this article for more information: About bank or credit card subaccount setup.

Also, here's more information on how to create subaccounts in your chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online

I'm always here if you need more help in creating or connecting your accounts. Take care and have a great rest of the day!
