I downloaded transactions from bank but cannot seem to import the csv

Good morning, @gabrielle-mahon. I'm here to help you import your bank data into your account.

You can bring in bank transactions to QuickBooks Online using Excel CSV files that use either a 3-column or 4-column format. This could be where you're receiving error. Here's a link that shows you how to format the spreadsheet. Below, I've listed steps on how to import:

How to Import Transactions from a CSV file:

  1. Go to the Gear icon ⚙.
  2. Select Import Data.
  3. Choose Bank Data.
  4. This will bring you to Bring your info into QuickBooks page. Locate the left box Get your info from your bank, and Select a file to upload.
  5. Click Browse and find the file you downloaded from your bank, then press Next.
  6. From the QuickBooks Account drop-down list, pick the appropriate bank or credit card account and hit Next.
  7. Map the statement fields according to your CSV file format and select Next.
  8. Mark the checkboxes of the transactions to import and push Next.
  9. When prompted to import now, press Next.
  10. Hit Let's go! when the Import completed notification appears.

Once this is finished, you'll be directed to the Banking window where your imported transactions are displayed in the For Review tab. You can review (edit), add, or match each transaction. I've provided an article with more information on how to Download, match, and categorize your bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
