I finished reconciling one month, then when i click the "Start Reconciling" button for the next after entering the amounts, nothing happens.

The wheel spins for a moment then nothing. The page does not go anywhere and it does not accept (or reject) my amount/ending date. I am new to this process and I feel like I'm missing a step but it worked fine for the prior months.

I understand the importance of having a smooth experience when reconciling your account, Christopher. Allow me to go into details about this and route you to the appropriate support.

I have checked our records and couldn't find any ongoing investigation related to the unresponsive reconcile button in QuickBooks Online (QBO). To narrow down the issue, I recommend reconciling your account using a private window. The private window doesn't store any history or form data, unlike the regular browser which tends to hold onto information. Over time, this could cause problems while working with QuickBooks.

To save you time, you can use either of these shortcut keys:

  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Internet Explorer: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift +N

If it works fine from there, switch back to your regular browser and clear its cache.

If the issue persists, try using other supported browsers to narrow down the cause.

Moving forward, I've added this article if you want to run a Profit & Loss report to get the latest update on your business's finances: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to reply to this thread anytime if you need further assistance regarding reconciliation or any QuickBooks-related concerns. I am always available to help. Stay safe!
