I have an account which was closed in January. I need to access information from the closed business. Is there a way to reinstate/reopen a closed account?

My book keeper closed this account, at my request, but did not run all reports necessary for my tax preparation.

Hi, @rob-oakparkhandy.

I'm here to share information about access information from your closed business through QuickBooks Online (QBO).

When you cancel your QBO subscription, you have read-only access to your data for one year. Since your subscription was canceled last January, there's no need to reopen or re-subscribe again. You can still log into your account to run reports or export them to Excel.

For more information about what the data availability and export polices after cancelation, consider checking out this article: What happens to my QuickBooks Online data after I cancel?

I also recommend visiting our website for more tips and other resources you can use in the future: Self-help articles.

If you have additional questions about this or anything else QuickBooks, please let me know in the comment section below. I'll be happy to help. Take care always.

We have closed our business and not using Quick Books for this company but need to keep the information available for future tax questions. Is there a lower fee for archiving the information. We are paying for 4 companies right now and two of them are closed.

I'm here to help with accessing data from your closed business in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

When you cancel your QBO subscription, you have read-only access to your data for one year. After a year of canceling the account, all the information will be deleted.

For you to keep your information, I highly recommend running reports or exporting them to Excel.

Additionally, you can check this out to learn what happens to your QB after canceling it.

You may visit this article if in case you want to reactivate your account in the future to resume managing your business: Resubscribe to QB Online.

If you have more questions related to managing your account, feel free to respond. We're here to lend a hand.

@KimL68

Convert your data to QB Desktop and you can use the trial version to access your historical data for good.
