I just want to see activity in all of my accounts in chronological order, something akin to a bank register. Where is the button for that?

Hello, Johnlox,

I wanted to verify some additional details with you if you do not mind. Do you mean to sort the transactions that shows up in the For review or Categorized tab of the Banking page? If so, you can click on the Date column. This will sort the transactions from Descending to Ascending order.

Here's a sample screenshot for a visual reference:

If you're trying to view any changes on the account like for example, an edited or deleted transaction, you can run the Audit log report in QuickBooks Online account. This is  where you can filter the transaction logs to see what’s entered or changed in your data.

To access the logs, here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon located in the upper right-hand corner and select Audit log.
  2. Click the Filter (funnel icon) to only choose the information you want to see (User, Date, and Event).

To learn more about the Audit log report, you can read this article: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online

Please feel free to reach back out if you have any additional questions about the report or need help with other task in your account. I'm always around to help you out. Take care and have a good one!
