I linked my checking account to Quickbooks, but it does not show all of the months; I only see May to July, and it misses transactions from January to May. Why?

I'm here to help you address the missing bank transactions and guide you on how to import them into QuickBooks Online (QBO), @oceanairflow.

Many banks allow only up to 90 days (3 months) of transaction history to be imported when initially linking an account. This is a possible reason why transactions from May onward are visible, but those from January to May are missing.

As a workaround, please request a transaction history file from your bank covering the period from January to May. Ensure the file is in one of these formats: .CSV, .QBO, .OFX, or .QFX.

Once you have the file, you can manually import it into QuickBooks Online (QBO).

  1. Go to Transactions and select Bank transactions.
  2. Click the Bank tile and choose Upload from file in the Link account dropdown.
  3. Drag or select the file in the Drag and drop field and click Continue.
  4. Follow the on-screen steps.

It only goes back 3 months.

You have to manually upload Pre-May transaction using csv file.
