In bank reconciliation, how to I view the check numbers so that I can reconcile?

Thanks for joining the conversation, @patricia1313

Let me help you fix the reference number issue in the Reconciliation window.

Upon checking, there are no updates regarding the reference number for last month. Also, I was able to view this information in the Reconciliation window on my end.

When reconciling an account, ensure that all necessary transaction details, including the reference number, are entered so that they appear on the page. To check, let's open the transaction and see if the reference number is entered. Simply click on the transaction from the Reconciliation window, and select Edit. If the reference number hasn't been entered yet, I recommend filling it out and then clicking Save and close.

If the reference number is already present in the Transaction window but still not showing on the Reconciliation page, we can perform some troubleshooting steps. Sometimes, an accumulation of too much cache in a browser can cause unexpected behavior with the product.

To begin, open your account in a private window to determine if the issue is related to a cache problem. You can access this mode by using the following shortcut keys:

  • For Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari: ⌘+ Shift + N

If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. If you're still getting the same results, use another supported browser instead.

I'm also including this article that outlines various guidelines to help resolve any reconciliation problems you might encounter: Learn the reconcile workflow in QuickBooks.
