As per checking, there's an ongoing investigation (INV-92263) about Venmo not connecting properly in QuickBooks Online. No worries, our product engineers are working diligently to get this fixed so you can get back on track with your transactions.

 

I'd suggest contacting our Support Team so that you'll be added to the list of affected users and be informed promptly once the issue is resolved.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
  2. Click the Help button at the top right corner.
  3. Go to the Search tab, then select Contact Us.
  4. Enter a brief discussion of your concern, then click Continue.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us.

 

Once everything is settled, you may refer to this article as your reference on how to categorize and manually upload online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

I'm here to provide an update regarding the investigation my colleague has mentioned above.

 

Upon checking our system, the investigation about being unable to connect Venmo to QuickBooks Online (QBO) is already marked as closed. 

 

If you're still experiencing issues linking your account, can you share if you encounter any error messages? This way, we'll be able to investigate and determine its cause.

 

In the meantime, I recommend connecting Venmo to QBO via a private window. It'll help us check if this is a browser-related issue. Excessive cache used by your regular browser can negatively impact application performance. With the help of incognito mode, it'll assist us in determining its exact cause since this doesn't save your browsing history and doesn't accumulate cache. 

 

Here are the keyboard shortcuts: 

 

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N 
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N

 

Once logged in, connect Venmo again. If it works,  clear the browser's cache. Doing so improves system performance, fixes program problems, and frees storage space. Using other supported browsers also helps us verify if this is a browser-specific problem. 

 

If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They're equipped with tools to check the cause. It'll also allow them to submit a new ticket to our engineering team to alert them about the issue if necessary.

In addition to that, you can also manually upload transactions from your Venmo account in QuickBooks Online. Then,  match and categorize them to ensure your record is accurate.
