is QuickBooks Desktop 2022 software going to be discontinued

A pleasant day to you, @JIBIT.

To answer your question. Yes, the same as the QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2021 the 2022 version will also be discontinued after May 31, 2025. This includes all versions of Pro, Premier, Mac, and Enterprise solutions.

If you won't upgrade to a higher version on or before May 31, 2025, access to live technical support will be cut off, and you won't receive the latest critical security patches and updates.

Check out this article for more info: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy.

If you wish to upgrade to a higher version of QBDT, you can read this article: Upgrade QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus, Premier Plus, or Enterprise.

Additionally, I'll add this article so your QBDT has the latest features and improvements: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.

I'm glad to have you here. Don't forget to reply if you have additional queries about the QBDT discontinuation policy. Have a good day.

Don't worry. They will support QB Desktop 2022 until 2025. You can pay the renewal fee this year via a partner to get $100 cashback if required.

Thanks for the follow-up response, @JIBIT

After May 31, 2024, your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2021 software will be discontinued. Currently, we're unable to extend support to 2025 since the program has a three-year lifespan.

Each year, Intuit introduces a new QBDT version, featuring updates and enhancements. If your computer's operating system is compatible with QBDT 2021, you can continue using it. However, certain functionalities like payroll and online banking will cease, and there will be no further system updates or technical support available.

You can learn more by reading this article: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy.

To transition to QBDT 2022, you can use this reference as your guide: Upgrade QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus, Premier Plus, or Enterprise.

Furthermore, we've provided an article highlighting the features in the QBDT 2022 release and how you can utilize them to benefit your business: What’s new in QuickBooks Desktop 2022.

Fill me in if you have any clarifications about the QBDT 2021 discontinuation. We'll ensure to respond promptly to keep you informed. Wishing you a safe and productive day ahead!

@JIBIT

Do you have QB Desktop 2021 with a non subscription license? Why do you need to upgrade? Do you need to run any add-ons after May 2024? e.g QB Payroll, QB Payment

@JIBIT

Why do you have to use 2022 version? By default you must purchase QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus or Premier Plus. You must call their sales team by phone to purchase it. Another option, you can email @Fiat Lux - ASIA for assistance + you can get $100 cashback.

I appreciate your prompt response in the Community forum, @JIBIT.

Just to clarify, the QuickBooks Desktop 2022 version is no longer available for purchase in 2024, as QuickBooks only offers the current year's version each year.

Also, as mentioned by my colleague, JaeAnnC, you can still access your company files after May 2024 in your QuickBooks Desktop 2021 version for recording purposes. However, features that require Internet access, such as payroll, online banking, and software updates will no longer be available.

You can find additional insights about the QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy in the highlighted article by checking the FAQs at the bottom.

Moreover, you can refer to this resource for more information on upgrading to the new QuickBooks Desktop version: Upgrade QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus, Premier Plus, or Enterprise.

I'm here to answer your follow-up questions.

Yes, you can purchase QuickBooks 2022 from a third-party source, and it will still allow you to send invoices and receive payments. However, it's important to note that QuickBooks 2022, like QuickBooks 2021, has a lifespan of 3 years and will be discontinued in 2025.
