Is there a way to view all accounts in Chart of Accounts that have no recent entries all at once, thus to make inactive.

We are making some accounts in COA inactive because we change things around.  Is there a way to view all the recently inactive accounts, then make them inactive so they will not show up in the COA list please?

Thanks! ny

Good day, @nonyanon. Yes, there is.

You can include all the inactive accounts from the list in the Chart of Accounts (COA). The system has an option to include them on the list by not making them active.

The steps below will guide you through completing the task:

  1. Go to the Accounting on the left panel.
  2. Within the Chart of Accounts tab, click the small Gear icon.
  3. Tick the Include inactive box.
  4. QuickBooks will then automatically include the inactive accounts on the account lists.

Once you do it, there is an indication that your account is inactive by seeing deleted next to the account name. Please take a look at the sample screenshot below.

Now, if you want them to remove from the list, all we have to do is unchecked the Include inactive box. You can follow the same steps provided above.

In case you want to make them active, click Make active under the Action column.
