Switch payroll to new bank in Qbooks - went through the process of adding PNC bank and setting it up to be the bank for payroll. along the way there was a step to link the bank account and it required the bank to text me a code.
- The bank sent me the code and it worked no problem.
- At the end of the process the last step showed the account being linked with a green check mark by it.
- The final step was to click the confirm button and it said a text would be sent with another code. The text never came. i tried again and realized it had the wrong phone number listed that it would text to.
- My number ends in 3650 the number listed ended in 6350. I double checked my contact number in both quickbooks and online banking and they are both correct.
- I contacted quickbooks and they helped verify that my number is correct in the account. they said it had to be the banks error.
- I contacted Jordan at the bank. He helped me confirm that the bank had the correct contact number for me and said he would make some calls to those who are more familiar with this process.
- Jordan called back and asked if the number I got the original verification text from the bank was from 76200. It was so he stated that at that point the bank had all they needed for the process and the one time code concluded their involvement and the rest was 100% on Quickbooks.
- Re: I got on line to the Quickbooks community and asked "Is the final confirmation when changing bank accounts a verification from Quickbooks? or from the bank?" They came back with the procedure for changing my phone number SO THEY OBVIOUSLY DID NOT READ OR LISTEN TO MY QUESTION. I DID NOT ASK THE PROCEDURE BECAUSE THE PHONE NUMBER IS ALREADY CORRECT THERE. I SIMPLY WANT AN ANSWER TO WHETHER THIS LAST STEP IN THE PROCESS IS GENERATED BY QUICKBOOKS OR BY THE BANK SO I KNOW WHO NEEDS TO HELP ME RESOLVE IT.
I can see the urgency of getting your issue fixed, @gmarks195.
I've got some insights about the final confirmation code when changing payroll bank accounts in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'll also route you to the best support who can help you with this further.
The final confirmation code when changing payroll bank accounts is verification from QuickBooks. It's a part of the Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) process that verifies your identity to make sure your account isn't compromised.
You're unable to update your MFA phone number inside the QBO product. You'll have to log into your Intuit account profile to do this. However, since you'll need to receive an MFA code to edit your Intuit account's phone number, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care team again. They have the appropriate tools to help update your phone number so you can change your payroll bank account accordingly. Here's how:
Once your MFA phone number is updated, you can now proceed in changing your company's bank account for payroll. You can visit this article for the complete guide: Change your payroll bank account.
Also, you may want to visit one of our Help pages if you need more insights about managing your Intuit or QuickBooks account: Account Management. It includes topics about subscription, company info, and data and security, to name a few.
Let me know if you have other concerns about managing your Intuit account or questions about changing your payroll bank account in QBO. I'm always here to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @gmarks195.
