Good evening, @print or export employee banking

It's great to see you back in the Community. Let me share some insight into features that are discontinued within QuickBooks Desktop 2022.

I can see how beneficial this feature is to you and your business, and also to other users. However, yes, the Loan Manager feature was removed from the QuickBooks Desktop 2022 version.

Particular transaction will no longer be automated like in the Loan Manager. Although this has occurred, you can still track loans in your QuickBooks. You'll need to manually enter them into the system. Here's a guide that can help you out: Manually track loans in QuickBooks Desktop.

For more details, you can check out this article about discontinued features in 2022 of the Desktop version of QuickBooks.

Contact me if you have any other questions or concerns about your account. I'm always here to lend a helping hand. Have a wonderful day!

@Candice C

The OP asked you why it was discontinued. You did not answer the question.

I can't believe this feature was removed.  It was so beneficial and useful.  Why??

This is terrible!  So many users relied on this.  If we wanted to track things manually we would not have purchased quickbooks.  QB needs to put this feature back in and also step up the tech support!

Why would you discontinue the loan manager feature?  Quickbooks is suppose to improve with updates that cost $$ not take away features that we depend on.  You mention looking interest up manually?  Really if we wanted to look it up manually we would still be using pencil and paper and not purchasing software.  This was a really bad decision to take away and not replace it with a better option than manually look  up interest.  Also, customer support it terrible compared to what it had been in years past.

Why would you discontinue the loan manager feature  we desperately need and not give us a better replacement option than manually look up interest amounts.  This is terrible.

Hello there, kwhisman.

I understand how convenient the Loan Manager is for your business.

The Loan Manager feature was discontinued in the 2022 version. You can still use it in previous, currently supported versions.

In addition to this, I can only provide an article for the details of why the loan manager feature was removed. Check out this guide: Learn what features didn’t make it into QuickBooks 2022 and Enterprise 22.0.

You may send feedback about this to our Product Team. Here's how:

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select Send Feedback Online.
  3. Click Product Suggestion.
  4. Under Product Area, select Product Updates.
  5. Describe your request. Say an option not to receive in-product promotions.
  6. Select Send Feedback.
  7. Click Close Window.

MaryLandT, the article you provided the link to,  Learn what features didn’t make it into QuickBooks 2022 and Enterprise 22.0. does not explain WHY this feature has been removed--only that you can work around it manually.

And yes, you certainly CAN work around it manually.  The question is WHY would QuickBooks force me to upgrade to a new product that discontinues a very valuable feature, and then just say, "Well, that feature is still available in the OLD version that we're not allowing you to use any longer"?  Your users deserve an actual explanation.

I hate to have to beg for an old feature to be re-instated, but I will do so and hope that many others will join me.

You have got to be kidding me!!!!  I have used QB since 1998, and ALWAYS used loan manager.  I was forced to upgrade to 2023 at the beginning of June since my version was no longer supported.  Image my surprise when I went to loan manager - and it is gone!!!!!!!!!  The manual "workaround" is complex, arduous and wasting my time.  I cannot believe that you would remove such a valuable aspect of QB.  I am now going to waste countless hours setting this all up for multiple loans, and where is all my data!!!  This is work that does not make me any money!! To say I am pissed is an understatement.  QB has erred to the max!!  Fix this and don't be so stupid!  GRRRR!!!

Where then can I buy the desktop version of Quickbooks 2021 so I can continue to use Loan Name??

Hi Dale77,

I'm here to enlighten you about the QuickBooks Desktop subscription.

QuickBooks Desktop has a service discontinuation policy. Wherein, all QuickBooks Desktop 2021 and older are no longer offered. It is designed this way to ensure that your software remains secure, reliable, and supported.

However, the Loan Manager feature is still accessible in the updated QuickBooks Desktop version. You may want to purchase QuickBooks Desktop 2023 or 2024 versions instead. You may explore this page to review the best plan for your company: QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Pricing.

if you already have an existing QuickBooks Desktop plan, you may upgrade it to the latest one.

Furthermore, I've added here a few articles that will guide you through installing QuickBooks Desktop:

Hello there, jpohl10934.

I want to ensure that I can offer the best answer to your concern. But I need more information about what you're going through.

Can you share with us what you're trying to find? Are you referring to the Loan Manager or your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) version? Any additional info will help me provide the appropriate resolution of the issue.

Keep me updated in the comments below. Hope to hear from you as soon as possible. Take care and stay safe!

I purchased a license for Quickbooks 2021 so that I could continue to use Loan Manager without manually having to enter every mortgage every month from an amortization schedule. If that is available on a desktop version after that I would have purchased that. I now have 2 problems:

1) The license I bought allowed me to download Quickbooks 2021 successfully, however, when I called in for customer support (which is available until May 2024), Quickbooks says they cannot find my license number so would not help me. How is this possible? (that the license # works but Quickbooks customer service can't find it)

2) The reason I called customer support - I am upgrading from QBs2017 to Quickbooks 2021, however the "Loan Manger" data is empty. I have been told before that when you upgrade and use your QB data that it the upgrade transfers everything EXCEPT the Loan Manager data. In order to do that, you have to somehow transfer that one file (*.lmr) from where it was to some new place where the new version (2021) sees it. Don't know why QBs wouldn't transfer this information, but i need everything to come in so I don't have to re-enter all the loans.  I need to know how to do this.

I purchased a license for Quickbooks 2021 Desktop from an Ebay vendor and customer support for that version is not supposd to end until May, 2024. I have 2 problems:

1) The license # worked fine to download the version, however when I called customer support to help walk me through this Loan Manager problem, they said they could not find this license number so could not help me. How is it possible to have a License # which works to download the product but QBs customer support can't find it?

2) I am trying to get help to transfer the Loan Manager data from the old version to the new version. When QBs updates and uses the current files from the previous version of QBs, it does NOT update the Loan Manager info. I have heard that you need to manually transfer a file (*.lmr) to where every the new QBs can read it. Seems stupid that a prograrm as popular as QBs won't transfer ALL the info. I don't want to have to manually input all my mortgages all over again, so I want this to read the information I already have in the system.

I appreciate the detailed information you provided, @Dale77.

I'd like to share a possible explanation as to why our support team was unable to locate your license number. I'll also share some insights about importing your loan manager data into QuickBooks Desktop.

To start, I'd like to provide you with a possible reason why our support team couldn't find your license number. The license number provided by the eBay vendor may have given you access to an obsolete and cracked version. Because of that, our Customer Care Team couldn't review your account and we're unable to provide support in such cases.

Additionally, I completely understand how important it is to have a quick and efficient process. Unfortunately, manually entering your loan data is the only available option at the moment. However, you can consider using third-party apps to help you with the process. You can browse different apps here: QuickBooks Desktop Apps.

You may want to track your loans manually in QuickBooks. A detailed guide on how can be found in this article: Manually track loans in QuickBooks Desktop.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any follow-up questions about managing your loan in QuickBooks. The Community team and I are always here to assist you.
