I'll help you download the transactions, Peter74.

It could be there's a connectivity issue with your bank and our system. Let's manually update the account in QuickBooks Online to refresh the connection. Here's how:

  1. Click Banking.
  2. Go to the Banking tab.
  3. Click Update

If you're still unable to download them, check your financial institution's website. Look for any alerts or messages. They block the transactions to get transferred to our program.

Although, if you've encountered an error message, please refer to this article and go directly to Step 3

Once the transactions are already downloaded, you can categorize and match the bank transactions

Thank you for the reply. I have updated the bank link a few times. Everything since 3/12/2020 is downloaded, but NOTHING from 1/14/2020 - 3/11/2020 is downloaded. There are no error messages on my bank portal. Is there anything else I can try?

We can manually upload bank transactions, peter74.

It's possible that within the period the bank had a maintenance that's why transactions to be downloaded were interrupted. Meantime, we can manually import so we can add them to your books.

Let me show you how:

  1. Log in to your bank's website and follow the bank's instructions on how to download transactions to your computer. Some banks call this WebConnect.
  2. Set the date range of the transactions to download.
  3. Download your transactions. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it, like your desktop. Make sure to save it in a file type or format such as CSV, QBO, or QFX.
  4. Then, start uploading the file into QuickBooks.

For the step-by-step guide on how to manually import your transactions, check out this article: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.
