It's my pleasure to help you transfer your existing QuickBooks data to the new account, kevin.

Let me walk you through the process of transferring your existing data to your new account. You can export your old data to Excel and save it to your computer. Then, import it to your new QuickBooks account to transfer your files.

Here's how:

  1. Select the Gear icon and click the Export data.
  2. In the Reports tab, select the date range and choose the report you want to export.
  3. Click Export to Excel.
  4. Go to the Lists tab, select CustomersEmployee, and Suppliers, then click Export to Excel.

Once done, save the data to your computer and import it to your new QBO account.

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Import Data.
  2. Click the data you want to import.
  3. Select the Browser button and choose the file you export.
  4. Click Next, then follow the onscreen instructions.

Let me know if you have any other questions about data in QuickBooks Online. I'll be sure to get back to you. Stay safe!

My business has split off from another business. I need to create a new qbo account with a copy of all my data from my previous qbo account.

I tried this and this doesn't seem to carry over receipt images that are attached to transactions, chart of accounts and other items.

Can you advise how I move everything over?

I'm here to help you export your receipts images that were attached to transactions, kevin-kaprealest

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can get your receipts attachments by navigating to your Settings, and then downloading all of them.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon located in the upper right corner, then choose All list
  2. Within the List window, find the Attachments option.
  3. You can tick the box beside the Thumbnail column, then tap the Batch actions dropdown.
  4. Choose Export
  5. Follow the on-screen steps.

You can also see this material for more information about exporting your receipts: Export your receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, here's an article for you to utilize as you import it into another company file. This also contains the steps to follow once you're done exporting your info from QBO: Upload your receipts to QuickBooks Online

Keep us notified after transferring your attachments and other information to a different company file. We're still here to back you up.

You have to migrate data with attachments manually or purchase a 3rd party migration service.
