Export your receipts

Learn how to export your receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Need to get receipts you’ve added to QuickBooks? You can download them one at a time or in bulk. In this article we’ll show you how.

Export a single receipt

You can export any receipt with these steps:

  • Go to Settings Settings gear icon..

  • Under Lists, select Attachments.

  • Find the receipt you want to export. In the Action column, select Download.

  • The receipt opens in a new browser window. To save the receipt to your computer, right-click and select Save As… from the browser’s pop-up menu.

Export from a transaction

If a receipt is linked to a transaction, you can also export it by going to the transaction. For example, if the receipt is linked to an expense:

  • Go to All apps A bunch of numbers and letters on a tile wall., then Expenses & Bills, then Overview (Take me there).

  • Find and select the expense with the receipt you want to export.

  • Under Attachments, select the file name of the receipt.

  • The receipt opens in a browser window. To save the receipt to your computer, right-click and select Save As… from your browser’s pop-up menu.

Export receipts in bulk

To export multiple receipts all at once:

  • Go to Settings Settings gear icon..

  • Under Lists, select Attachments.

  • Select the checkboxes for the receipts you want to export.

  • Select the Batch actions ▼ dropdown and then select Export.

  • A ZIP file downloads to your computer. Open the ZIP file to get a folder with all the receipts you selected.
