I'm here to help you pull up the information under the Payee field, @Commish190.
This happens when you're in the Classic Mode. When using this, the payee field will be blank in the transactions. Another reason is when the downloaded transactions have generic names or descriptions such as checks, Payments, or Online transfers. With this, QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) will create rules as you enter or add the entries. Then, link them to those unmatched transactions.
To isolate the issue, you may consider using the Express Mode when downloading transactions to retrieve the payee details. Before that, ensure that your QBDT program is updated to the latest release. Once done, you can follow the steps below:
- From your QBDT program, go to the Edit menu.
- Click Preferences.
- From the left pane, choose Checking then, navigate to the Company Preferences tab.
- In the Bank Feeds section, click on Express Mode.
- Then, select OK.
You may also want to create rules for each vendor to ensure all information will populate correctly.
I've got you here helpful article that will further guide you in downloading your bank transactions: Download Bank Feed transactions in QuickBooks Desktop. This also includes steps on how you can import transactions outside your QBDT program.
Reviewing your accounts to ensure that your real-life bank and QBDT balances are in sync is easy. This can be done by performing the reconciliation process. Once finished, you can also pull up a reconciliation report that you can save to serve as a reference to avoid reconciliation issues in the future.
Don't hesitate to post here again if you have any other concerns about downloading your transactions in QBDT. I'll be right here to assist you. Keep safe.
