Buy nowHi,
We noticed that past transactions from our banks are not carried over in QB. We only those starting from April 2023 and only 1 transaction is before that from Amex. We have Amex and Chase accounts. Is there a way to pull them?
Regards
I understand the incovenience with your past transactions not appearing in QuickBooks Online (QBO), giokatz. I'm here to help you resolve this issue.
Firstly, may I ask if this is your first time connecting your bank to QuickBooks? If it is your first time, please note that when you connect your bank account to QuickBooks Online, the transactions are automatically downloaded and categorized.
However, please keep in mind that the number of past transactions that can be downloaded depends on your bank. Some banks allow you to download the last 90 days of transactions, while others can go back as far as 24 months.
If you want to enter older transactions, or if your bank or credit card can't connect to QuickBooks, you can still upload transactions manually. Ensure to follow your bank's instructions for downloading CSV files of your transactions to your computer as every financial institution has different steps.
Make sure to check the date range for the download and ensure that it is at least one day before the date of your oldest transaction. Once you have downloaded your transactions, save the file in a location that is easy for you to find, such as your desktop.

Now that your transactions are in QuickBooks, it's time to match and categorize them. The transactions go into your accounts after you review them.
If you have any further questions or concerns about bank transactions in QBO, please don't hesitate to ask. I'll be of help. Best regards.
Hi,
The start of transactions somewhat coincides with our start of using QB as far as I know. We suspected that is indeed the case. We can upload the old transactions manually as suggested but are there cases here in QB where Chase allows download of past transactions?
Thank you for your help.
Hi Jelayca,
The start of the transactions somewhat coincides with our QB sign-up so that must be the case. It's the bank restricting us the download of past transactions. Is there a case here where Chase has allowed downloading of past transactions?
We will try the manual upload. Thank you for your help.
Allow me to share some insight about downloading bank transactions, gio.
As my colleague mentioned, the availability of downloadable past transactions depends on your financial institution. Various banks let you download the last 90 days of transactions. Others can go back as far as 24 months. You can consult your chosen financial institution to ask for more information about this.
Alternatively, we can manually upload your transactions to get a hold of your past ones.
