Problems after upgrading to QB Desktop for Mac 2022 with changing Payee after bank or credit card download

After downloading from bank or credit card, when I go to enter a Payee, as I enter the first few letters, QB inserts an GL Account name instead of a Vendor Name and when I click on the entry to write over it, it reinserts the GL account name and whatever I type next comes after the name rather than replacing it. Next I try going to the Vendor List, copying and pasting the vendor name in Payee, and the system rejects the name.  It seems to only want to accept GL Account Names.  The Account entry is working correctly.

The work around is to go to the check register and manually enter the payment and once I do that it matches with the originally downloaded entry, but obviously that is more time consuming.

How can I fix this?  I've already tried a utility rebuild.  I can't tell you how much time this is taking for what has always been a quick and easy issue.

Problems after upgrading to QB Desktop for Mac 2022 with changing Payee after bank or credit card download

Thank you for your suggestions, though I find them completely unhelpful.  I have been using Quickbooks for over a decade.  I know how to download, edit and clear transactions.  There is a software glitch that occurred when I upgraded to QB Desktop for Mac 2022 that I am unable to fix.  Every time I go to edit the Payee of a downloaded transaction, the system pulls from the gl account code database rather than the vendor or customer database.

I was hoping someone would have a fix for this because I am unable to call QB Support during their business hours.

Thanks for getting back to us, wowstudio.

I appreciate the update you provided. I'll point you in the right direction for support.

You can use the WebConnect feature. This allows you to download bank transactions from your financial institution and upload them into your QuickBooks.

Also, you'll want to check with your bank if what are the supported connections in your QuickBooks Desktop.

Additionally, I'd suggest contacting our Technical Support team for further assistance. They can pull up your account in a secure environment, and check as to why you have this issue.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Give a brief description of your issue, then select Let's talk, and then choose a way to connect. Phone support may be limited due to volume.

You can also keep this article for future reference, whenever you'd like to contact our support teams: Support hours and types. Here you'll find a complete list of our support teams, alongside their operating hours.

Lastly, you can visit this website: Fix Online Banking. It provides you with the recommended solutions to help you resolve any online banking issues.

I'm just around the corner if you have other questions. You take care!
