Buy nowI have Quickbooks Self-Employed connected to my business PayPal account. All of my purchases made with the account are showing up in Quickbooks as ”Debitcard Transaction” instead of the company name. ALL of them. Why would this suddenly happen and how do I fix it?
QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) relies on the information shared by your bank account, Alchemic. Let’s delve deeper into this.
If you used your debit card as a payment method when paying your vendor or processing payments from your clients, the bank feeds in QBSE will show it as Debit Card transactions. Also, we're unable to show these bank descriptions and details in the system.
For you to show the company name for each bank record, I suggest adding it in the Notes field by clicking the drop-down/triangle button beside the bank transaction. Here’s how:
Also, if you mean to change the name of a particular transaction, just click on it and manually enter your preferred name.

Once everything is organized, you can consider reporting your income, deductions, profits, and losses for your self-employment tax. For more guidance, feel free to check out this article: QuickBooks Blog.

So, your solution is to match up the business on PayPal and manually type in the business name on over 100 transactions? Seriously? In a program that is supposed to import the information automatically and worked fine up until four months ago? You are unable to tell me why this problem started and how to correct it? Are you saying this is an issue with PayPal?
Your response is valued, and I get where you're coming from, @alchemicmuse. I can see that manually editing entries isn't the best approach for you. Allow me to provide details to fix PayPal transactions that aren't showing as intended in QuickBooks Self-employed (QBSE).
Primarily, QBSE relies solely on the data provided by PayPal to populate transaction details. Differences in information transmitted by PayPal affect how transactions are shown in the program.
To help us determine if changes in the PayPal and QuickBooks data integration are impacting transaction imports, contact our Live Support Team. They can provide insights specific to your account setup and potentially open an investigation ticket if necessary.
