QB BANK REC FREEZING

Every time my QB for MAC 2021 updates and I go into my bank reconciliation it comes up and I hit OK and it is frozen.  I can't close it as the red dot is no longer there.  Only the yellow and green dot show.  I can't remember how to fix it.  Please help.

QB BANK REC FREEZING

I'll be glad to share some troubleshooting steps so you're able to reconcile your account, @JFShears43.

Since you can't close the program on your device, you can end the task in the Task Manager. You can click Command + Option + Esc on your keyboard, then select QuickBooks Desktop to force quit the program.

Then, you can reopen the program, and then verify your data for errors or data damage. Before doing so, make sure to update your program to the latest version to incorporate all the software improvements and fix bugs.

Here's how:

  1. Click the File menu, then select Utilities.
  2. Choose Verify Data, then click OK to close all windows.
  3. If you see this prompt "Your data has failed the integrity check", you'll need to rebuild your file. If not, you're good to go.

Once the files are verified, you can rebuild them to fix the errors or data damages found. Let me guide you how:

  1. Click the File menu, then select Utilities.
  2. Select Rebuild Data, then select OK to close all windows.
  3. You will be asked to back up your company file before doing the process, then select OK. If you don't want a backup copy, you can select Cancel and proceed to rebuild your file.
  4. Select OK once done.

For detailed instructions about the process above, open this article: Troubleshoot Crash Catcher.

Additionally, I'll be sharing these resources that will help you with your reconciliation in QuickBooks:

Please let me know how it goes after following the steps above. I'm always here to help if you have any other concerns with freezing issues in QuickBooks. Stay safe.
