So my webconnect was missing a month of data, so I had to manually do the download and attempt to import. I keep getting the error as above.. then asks use an existing QB account that are all rando ,like other expense, other income and Paypal... or I have to create a new one and then merge the two.. dont want to keep doing that, it scares me that something will get screwed up.
So what makes it not match ? I assume I need to edit something in this file to make it match my actual bank account in QB.. would the name be wrong or account type or number ? I did alter my account number to have leading zero's and its checking... but not sure if the name is wrong ? since the name in my file and the name on the error dont match up.. so not sure where that is coming from. So what needs to match what in QB and my file so I can get this to import correct.
and for the record, if I hit download transactions again from my bank it says I'm all up the date.
thanks for any insite.
You'll only get the QB doesn't have an online account to handle error message when the account you're using is inactive. Allow me to guide you so you can fix your account, importing and matching issues, Kevin.
In QuickBooks Desktop, you have the option to make an account inactive if you don't want to use this as of the moment. This hides the account from your chart of accounts and transactions. If this is the case and wants to use the account again, you can set this as active. To do so, follow the steps below:
Once you've done, this will minimize the error that you're getting or resolve the issue. Therefore, you'll will not go through with the process of creating another account and merging them just to make everything right.
For the matching issues, there are times when QuickBooks is unable to match a transactions. This happens because of variety of reason. Take a look at the options below:
For more information on how you can review and match, read this article: Add and Match Bank Feed Transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.
Lastly, you'll get the "it's up to date error when the .qbo file is formatted the same as the last import. You'll have to make sure to confirm that this is a new file and re-import the file.
Additionally, check out this article on how you can review your accounts to make sure they match your real-life bank and credit card statements: Reconcile An Account in QuickBooks Desktop.

Thanks Maria,
So when I look at the bank account I'm trying to get the file to attach to, it is active. I use it now to get my bank feed auto downloads. So I am assuming that the file data doesn't match what I have in QB for my online account and that's why it doesn't think its active.
They are both Univest bank.. I just assume something from A to B is not matching in the file that I'm trying to shoe horn in there. Does the name need to exactly match ? or maybe some account number ?
Thanks Maria,

Yes, the name or account number needs to match, Kevin. I'll share additional information and present a solution to resolve the issue you're facing. This guidance should assist you in successfully importing your data and moving forward with your task in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
First, make sure you have the necessary user permission for the account since only admins can manage bank feeds.
If you're the admin and you still receive errors when importing through Web Connect, I recommend performing troubleshooting steps. Here's how:
Rebuild the data
To ensure there are no errors or data damage, let's verify your company data.
If the issue persists, refresh your bank connection by deactivating and reactivating it. Please refer to the steps below:
To disconnect
Once done, set up bank feeds again. Then, reimport using Web Connect.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation throughout this process, Kevin. If you have other questions about importing or managing bank connections in QBDT, please don't hesitate to reach out. My goal is to ensure you successfully upload your records into the program. Remember, your success is important, so feel free to comment below for assistance with any challenges you may encounter along the way.
Thank again, but my bank feeds is not the issue. Its when I try to manually import the QBO file. I have to assume there is a mismatch in QB desktop bank account and what they are sending in the QBO file data. What can I check on that to make sure it matches. Since I can edit the QBO file to match whats in my Quickbooks bank account data, I just dont know what to make sure its matching.

I got around this same problem at 'QB does not have...' by choosing 'create a new account' and naming it something temporary. Then after matching the feeds, I changed this account's name to the exact name and type of account that it should have been - that merged the accounts and deleted my temp account.
