Buy nowHello- Longtime QuickBooks Desktop user here. A few days ago, my computer did not shut down correctly and when I reopened my file, several weeks of transactions were missing. So I spent several hours researching and was able to restore Auto Recovered data. As soon as I logged in, I attempted to import my QBO file from Capital One and got an error message "QuickBooks is unable to verify the Financial Institution for this download." I fought this situation for a few hours till I finally called QB tech support. A Level 1 walked me through steps to no avail and started a service ticket for Level 2 support. They took my file for a few days and sent it back but am still having this problem. The Level 2 people removed the Banking Feed for Capital One and told me I would have to set that up again but I am unable to link my QB checking account with Capital One. See attachments.
When I click on "Capital One", it no longer prompts me to enter my Capital One login info to link QB and Capital One and opens a dialog box on how to manually download the transactions. That's what I've been doing for years but somehow, the connection between the QBO file and my selected checking account is gone. I am unable to setup the banking feed with Capital One. Also I seem to remember that a few years ago, I was told to select the "Capital One Bank - New" feed but that's no longer an option(See attachment.) I'm so stuck right now. If anyone has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
I appreciate you for choosing QBDT as one of your trusted product and for reaching out to our support team to get help in resolving your issue, Rob. I'm here to provide additional troubleshooting steps to make sure you can import transactions seamlessly.
There are several reasons why you received the error "QuickBooks is unable to verify the Financial Institution information for this download." This includes incomplete bank files, incompatible formats, and sometimes changes from your bank.
To get this fixed, you can begin by switching to Classic Mode if you are using Advanced Mode in bank feeds.
Here's how:
If you still see an error, move to Step 4 section in this article: Fix Web Connect import errors.
If you already tried these steps and the issue remains unresolved, I recommend reaching out to Live Support team for more in-depth assistance. They have specialized tools and resources to investigate why you received an error related to importing transaction. You can also check their support hours to know when agents are available.
Once your transactions are uploaded, it's time to categorize and match them. You can create rules to streamline the categorize process.
We're committed to helping you manage your finances efficiently and effectively. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out.
Thank you so much for this Antonietta. I tried all of this with two different Level 1 support people yesterday to no avail. I'm hopeful my Level 2 person calls me back on Monday and we can work through this. It's 100% something with QB bc it's not allowing me to enable banking feeds to Capital One for some reason. A step I need to complete before importing the QBO files. Fingers crossed someone at Intuit figures this out for me. Thank you!
