Account Reconciliations crashes or won't open

Was working away getting caught up on my bookkeeping.  Getting things reconciled.  No issues yesterday or for an hour today. Suddenly when I try to go to bank/reconciliation, either the initial screen is greyed out & won't let me update the ending balance or if I can hit continue it crashes.  WTF?  I'm about ready to move to quicken.  And every time I try to post a question here, if I have to make corrections for highlighted items, it won't let me post for awhile cause it say I'm "flooding" sigh.

Account Reconciliations crashes or won't open

Hi there, @Susan154.

Let's perform a few troubleshooting steps so you can get back to business and work with QuickBooks reconciliation accordingly. This way, we can determine why your program is crashing unexpectedly and resolve it.

To begin, let's download and make sure to install the latest released version of QuickBooks for Mac. Let me show you how.

  1. Go to QuickBooks.
  2. Select Check for Updates.
  3. On the pop-up window, select Install Update.
  4. Click Install and Relaunch.

But if you're still unable to transfer and upgrade your file even after following the steps above, consider manually updating QuickBooks with the steps outlined in this article: How to Keep QuickBooks for Mac Up-to-Date?.

However, if you're already working with the latest released version, it's best to offload QuickBooks by clicking Move to Trash on your desktop. Then, follow the second set of steps in this article and restart your iMac: How to Clean Install, or Uninstall QuickBooks for Mac?.

We may need to perform a few browser troubleshooting steps once you encounter problems in using the Community platform. You can use this article for reference: How to delete cache and Intuit-specific cookies to quickly fix browser issues?

Don't hesitate to post again if you got questions or concerns with QuickBooks tasks and navigations. I'll always be around and ready to help. Take care!
