All of my accounts under 'Banking' changed to list view, opposed to appearing across the top, Why?

I can assist you in restoring the previous display of your Banking page, elaine40.

You may have clicked the up arrow on the bank transactions page. It could be the cause of why the display changed to list view. We can click the drop-down arrow to let your accounts appear across the top. I've added a screenshot below for your visual reference.

If the issue persists, I recommend accessing your account using a private window. This way, we can determine whether this is a browser cache-related issue. The cache helps web pages to load quickly. However, excessive of it can lead to problems that impact the system's performance.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N

If it works, clear the browser's cache. Doing so deletes all the data from your browser and optimizes its performance. Using other supported browsers also helps us verify if this is a browser-specific issue.

Please keep us posted if you need additional assistance managing your account and bank data. We always have your back.

Thank you Maybelle_S

That did it! Thank you. Trying to get back to the icon view was so distracting. It's a odd little dropdown button off to the side that's hardly noticeable. I must have accidentally hit it. The cursor over doesn't even explain why it's there.

Another question: I linked a Line of Credit account a few days ago that needs to be changed to Long Term Liability. No matter what I do to the transactions something won't allow me to change it from a Bank Acc to a Liability Acc. If I delete all 20 transactions is there a way I can download all of them again?

We're glad that the insights shared above were able to help restore your previous banking page display, elaine40. Let me help you categorize your banking entry to the correct account.

If you're modifying entries from your banking register, you can manually change the bank category to a Long Term Liability account. To do this:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and click Chart of Accounts.
  2. Select the specific bank register and click View Register.
  3. Find and click on the transaction.
  4. Select the correct Liability type of account. Then, click Save.

However, if you're changing your account from the banking section, we can undo the categorized transactions and classify them again. Here's how:

  1. Go to Transactions from the left menu panel, and click Bank Transactions.
  2. From the Categorized tab, click Undo under the Action column for that specific transaction.
  3. Once done, the entry will be moved to the For Review tab. Then, configure the account type you want this transaction to be categorized.

Additionally, may we know if you've encountered specific errors or issues when modifying your transaction from banking to a liability account? Any additional information would be much appreciated.

Moreover, you can manually import your banking entries to QuickBooks Online and categorize these accounts so you can start reconciling them to ensure your books are accurate.

We'll be available in this thread if you require additional assistance managing transactions in your account. Please don't hesitate to reply below so we can get you covered.

I'm trying to change a 'Bank Acc' to a 'Other Liabilities (Line of Credit) account.' The transactions came in attached to transactions already in the checking account, (same bank.) But no matter what I do - unmatch transactions, change accounts & categories to a different long term liability account, exclude transactions, delete some tractions, etc. in both the checking and new linked account - the new account will not change to Other Liabilities or Long Term liabilities. It keeps giving the following warning:

(Something’s not quite right
This account is being used on a Check, Deposit, Payment or other transaction where an account of type 'Cash' or 'Undeposited Funds' is required. You must locate and change those transactions to use a different Cash account before you can change the Account Type of this account. To find the transactions using an Account, run an Account QuickReport, or use the Account Register.)

Do I need to delete all transactions in the new linked account, (which I'm trying to avoid)? Is the Expense or Dep sections of the transactions the problem? I wish I could just delete the new linked account and start over, (which QB needs to allow in limited situations,) especially if a user designates the new linked account incorrectly and it's having problems.

I unmatched transactions in both accounts. A number of them would not even unmatch so I deleted the ones that wouldn't unmatch in the new LOC account, then excluded them from the transactions list. Still the same problem.

It's very frustrating and time consuming. We're not professional accountants, but we should be able to do our own bookkeeping without hours of irritation like this. I called phone tech support. He signed in to my account, after an hour he couldn't figure it out either & escalated the problem.
