How come there is no way to add the American Express National Bank to my books? It's an online bank made by American Express but it's not available to add via a link or anything else. I've reached out to Intuit to add it but have not heard anything back.
Thank you.
Hello, nathanbooker123.
I can share some insights about setting up your online banking account in QBO.
If you're unable to see the bank you want to connect even after entering the financial institution's name or link, it's most likely not yet supported by Intuit. But you can request to get it added in the system. Here are the steps on how to do that:
For more details about connecting bank account in QBO can be found in this article: Find your bank account when you connect to online banking.
Another alternative way is to manually upload the transaction by downloading the data from your bank's website:
For your reference, see the following links to import your transactions in QuickBooks:
You can always get back to this thread if you need another helping hand. Take care!
Utilize MT Online as a workaround. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed.

Very Typical. QBO still does not support American Express Business Checking. Its American Express, not like a new remote bank or something. With all the time Intuit puts in to creating ads to distract and sell me additional services in my QBO account, you think you would take the time to actually support real service and needs to let us do what we pay you for, which is keep our accounting and banking current. Lets get this resolved ASAP please. Xero Accounting is looking ever more promising as an option if Intuit keeps ignoring real necessary feature development requests from its clients. Come on Intuit, it is time to step it up and give us premium features and support for the premium price we are paying. Let's get this done!
I can see that it's a duplicate post, @ABS-JS1.
My colleague AileneA already shared her answer to your concern about connecting your American Express account. You can check out her response through this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/banking/re-will-quickbooks-support-american-expres....
The QuickBooks Community team is always here to help if you have any other concerns or follow-up questions. Have a good day!
They did not provide a resolution they provided a time consuming work around that is only partially effective. That is not a resolution. Other competitive platforms and apps have the connection. Intuit / QBO does not. I spoke to Amex support and they said that the lack of support for the connection is on your end. This is not new, but 11 months old. The more everyone has to employ work arounds handling basic operations that should be innate in the system, the less useful the system becomes. QBO is better than that. Please lets get this fixed and pay more attention to features that are directly tied to users day to day productivity and not just something with added subscription potential. Its what us day to day power users really need.
